FACEMASKS 101

If you're feeling as tired and stressed as I am, your skin is probably feeling, looking and all round sucking as much as mine too. There's nothing quite like snuggling up in bed with your favourite drink of choice, a few candles and an episode of your latest boxset (mine is The Blacklist, it's the bomb dot com lemme just say...) Add a face mask to the equation and it just gets a whole lot better, oh yeah. Recently since my skin has been so problematic, spotty and just all round sensitive, which is a bonus for you guys cos hey presto... guess what? I've been trailing and testing a few new face masks. Here are some well loved ones, and ones which aren't as well known but still kick ass.

First up is the Yes To Carrots Softening Facial Mask. Yes To is just killing the drugstore market at the moment when it comes to skincare, from it's facial wipes to it's creams to it's face masks now. It's really doing the rounds. This is a great thick paste which can evenly be spread across the face (particularly focusing on the t zone), starts to do the all round Clay Mask thang and starts to crack. Wipe this off with a warm muslin cloth and your skin will be feeling as smooth as a babies bottom. Winner for all skin types, particularly you Dry Skin ladies out there. Sold

Next up is a big of a deep cleaner, gets right in there and works its wonders. This of course is Super Facialist by Una Brennan's Tea Flower Pore Purifying Clay Mask. This stuff means business, and is pretty darn intense. I'd definitely not whack this all around your face as it may draw those spots out which are necessarily at bay because it cleans that deep. This is also a clay consistency, and works wonders at getting shot of those dreaded pores and blackheads around the nose. Una Brennan, you've got it going girl.

Talking about meaning business is the Origins Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask for Problem Skin. Can you tell I've really been struggling with my skin? Troubled skin is definitely the theme here. If you're breaking out, suffering from serious tomato-face redness or just feel like your skin is just becoming so bad and unmanageable... Origins have developed a Clay formula mask which will have you feeling slightly cooling, so clean and smooth. Very fresh and one for those early mornings where you can't sleep or a little pick me up. Don't over do it though, this stuff is pretty strong.

Last but certainly not least is of course a Zoella recommendation. If you've read my post on Zoella Made Me Do It, you'll have a head start knowing that I just bloody love Sanctuary Spa's 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask. This is definitely more of a fun one to do, and looks slightly scary since it's like a really dark grey almost black colour. To come, it's pretty awesome. It's like rubbing good warm gooeyness all over ya lil face. It doesn't heat up as much as Soap & Glory's Pores No More Self Heating Face Mask (my all time favourite but I've been through it so unfortunately it didn't make it to the picture) but it is still really awesome for those of you who fancy something a little bit different to the good ole traditional clay ones. Sorted.

What face masks have you been digging recently?
